1. Application in Circulating Water Systems
The circulating water system undertakes important tasks such as equipment cooling and heat exchange. Once there is a flow interruption, the equipment will be damaged due to excessive temperature. Electronic explosion-proof flow switches are usually installed on circulating water pipelines and monitor water flow based on principles such as thermal diffusion or electromagnetic induction. When the circulating water flows normally, the medium will carry away the heat of the flow switch detection element or generate specific electromagnetic signals. Once a flow interruption occurs, if the heat of the detection element changes or the electromagnetic signal is abnormal, the flow switch will respond promptly and output a switch signal. This signal can be transmitted to the control system to trigger the alarm device and remind the operator to handle it in time. At the same time, it can also control the operation of water pumps and other equipment to stop, avoiding equipment damage caused by dry burning and ensuring the stable operation of the entire circulating water system.
2. Application in Cutting Fluid Systems
In the mechanical processing, cutting fluid plays a role in cooling the cutting tool, lubricating the surface of the workpiece and washing away the chips. If the cutting fluid stops flowing, the tool will wear out sharply due to excessive temperature, affecting the machining accuracy and product quality. The electronic explosion-proof flow switch is installed in the cutting fluid pipeline and can monitor the flow state of the cutting fluid in real time. In an environment like a processing workshop where there is a risk of flammable and explosive gases, its explosion-proof characteristics ensure the safe operation of the equipment. When the flow rate of the cutting fluid is lower than the set threshold, it indicates that there may be situations such as pipeline blockage or pump failure that cause flow interruption. The flow switch immediately sends a signal. On the one hand, it stops the machine tool processing action to prevent the workpiece from being scrapped and the tool from being damaged due to the lack of cutting fluid. On the other hand, activate the standby pump or trigger an alarm to ensure the continuity of the cutting fluid supply and maintain the normal operation of processing and production.
3. Application in Lubricating Oil Systems
Lubricating oil is of vital importance for the lubrication, friction reduction and rust prevention of mechanical equipment. In a hydraulic system, the stable flow of lubricating oil is the guarantee for the normal operation of the equipment. The electronic explosion-proof flow switch in the lubricating oil system determines whether there is a flow interruption by detecting the change in the flow rate of the lubricating oil. For instance, in the hydraulic transmission system of large mechanical equipment, when the lubricating oil flow is insufficient, the flow switch will promptly feed back the signal to the control system. The control system, based on the preset program, first attempts to activate the auxiliary lubrication device. If it still fails to restore the normal flow rate, it immediately stops the equipment operation to prevent excessive wear and jamming of mechanical components due to lack of lubrication, and even to avoid serious equipment failure and safety accidents, effectively extending the service life of the equipment.
4. Protection against Pump idling
When the pump is idling, due to the lack of lubrication and cooling from the medium, it is very likely to cause problems such as wear of the pump body, damage to the seals and overheating of the motor. The electronic explosion-proof flow switch can monitor the inlet and outlet flow of the pump in real time. When the pump idles, that is, no medium flows through, the flow switch detects an abnormal flow signal and quickly outputs a control signal. This signal can promptly cut off the power supply of the pump, causing it to stop running and preventing damage due to idling. It provides reliable protection for the pump, enhances the safety and reliability of equipment operation, and reduces maintenance costs and downtime.
