FTS220 Thermal water flow sensor

Based on the thermal principle, the sealed probe is equipped with two resistors: one serves as the detection resistor and is heated, while the other acts as the reference resistor and remains unheated. When the medium flows, the heat on the heating resistor is carried away, causing its resistance value to change. The flow rate of the medium can be determined by measuring the difference between two resistors. This equipment has no moving parts, is maintenance-free and easy to install. A single model is suitable for various pipe diameter requirements. The switch quantity is continuously adjustable, the pressure loss is extremely low, and the structure is compact. The color crystal display screen intuitively shows the flow trend and switch status, and integrates an integrated temperature measurement function, supporting temperature alarm and remote measurement.

    Product Application

    1. Circulating water systems (such as industrial cooling circulation, central air conditioning water circulation)

    Application objective: Ensure stable flow to maintain heat dissipation efficiency, and prevent problems such as pipeline blockage and pump failure.
    The sensor is installed in the circulating water pipeline to monitor the water flow velocity or flow rate value in real time. When the flow rate drops below the threshold (such as when pipeline scaling reduces the flow cross-section), an alarm can be triggered and the valve can be linked to adjust or remind for cleaning. If there is a sudden increase in flow (such as pipeline leakage), quickly feedback the anomaly to avoid water waste or system pressure imbalance.

    2. Cutting Fluid Monitoring (Metal Processing Field)

    Application objective: Ensure a continuous and stable supply of cutting fluid to prevent tool wear and reduced workpiece accuracy due to insufficient flow.
    It is installed in the cutting fluid delivery pipeline to monitor in real time whether the flow rate meets the process requirements (such as setting the corresponding flow range according to the cutting material and rotational speed). When the nozzle is clogged or the pump body malfunctions, causing a sudden drop in flow rate, the sensor can immediately trigger the equipment to stop or sound an alarm, preventing the tool from burning out due to lack of cooling and lubrication, or the workpiece surface from having scratches, deformations and other defects.

    3.  No-load protection for pumps (Various industrial water pumps, centrifugal pumps)

    Application objective: To prevent the pump from running idle without medium flow and to avoid the burnout of mechanical seals and bearings due to lack of cooling and lubrication.
    Installed on the outlet pipeline of the pump, when the pump starts, if the sensor detects that the flow rate is zero or far below the normal threshold (indicating idling), the protection mechanism (such as cutting off the power supply) can be triggered within a few seconds. Compared with traditional pressure sensors, it is more sensitive in detecting "zero flow" and is not affected by fluctuations in medium pressure. It is especially suitable for scenarios such as low-viscosity clear water and coolant.
