PS710 Differential Pressure Digital Position Sensor

A differential pressure-based digital position sensor is a novel positioning device that employs differential pressure detection principles combined with digital signal processing technology. Unlike traditional sensors, it accurately determines the position state by detecting changes in the pressure difference between its sensing surface and the workpiece, directly converting this physical quantity into a digital signal output.
Its core working principle is as follows: the sensor incorporates a high-precision MEMS differential pressure-sensitive chip. When the measured object approaches or moves away from the detection surface, a slight pressure difference occurs in the gas circuit. This change is captured by a dedicated conditioning chip and then subjected to multi-stage temperature compensation, nonlinear correction, and digital filtering by an integrated microprocessor, ultimately producing a stable, high-precision digital position signal.

This is its primary application area, mainly used for measuring and controlling fluid parameters such as flow rate, level, and density—physical quantities often correlated with position or height.
Calculates fluid flow rate by measuring the differential pressure generated by throttling devices such as orifice plates and Venturi tubes. When combined with digital output, it can be easily integrated into DCS or PLC systems for precise flow monitoring and accumulation.
In a sealed container, the liquid level height can be determined by measuring the pressure difference between the bottom and top (or gas phase space) of the container. Digital sensors provide direct linear digital signals corresponding to the liquid level, which are used for storage tank monitoring, pump-valve interlock control, and similar applications.
At a constant liquid level, variations in differential pressure reflect changes in liquid density and are commonly employed in processes requiring solution concentration monitoring.
By measuring the differential pressure before and after the filter, an alarm is triggered when it exceeds a preset threshold to indicate the need for cleaning or replacement of the filter element, ensuring system safety.
In such systems, sensors are used to monitor and control the position or force state of actuating components (e.g., cylinders or hydraulic cylinders).
By measuring the pressure difference across the piston, the piston's position or whether it has reached the desired position can be indirectly determined. Digital output facilitates communication with a host computer, enabling closed-loop control.
Measures the pressure differential in actuating components caused by load variations; when the differential pressure exceeds the safety threshold, the system automatically triggers an alarm or shuts down.
In pneumatic or hydraulic valves, differential pressure feedback precisely controls the valve core position to achieve accurate regulation of flow rate or pressure.
In automotive systems, differential pressure sensors are commonly used for monitoring parameters related to position and flow.
By measuring the differential pressure before and after the DPF, its blockage severity is determined; if the pressure exceeds the threshold, a regeneration program is triggered.
Monitors the differential pressure before and after the EGR valve to precisely control the exhaust gas recirculation rate.
By measuring the pressure difference between the airbag interior and the external environment, it indirectly determines the vehicle's height (position) and automatically adjusts suspension stiffness.
Used for building environmental control to ensure stable air flow and spatial pressure.
In ventilation ducts, airflow is calculated by measuring the differential pressure across a pitot tube or flow nozzle, used for controlling VAV (Variable Air Volume) systems.
Maintain a slight positive or negative pressure between the cleanroom, operating room, or laboratory and adjacent areas to prevent cross-contamination.
Similar to industrial applications, it monitors the differential pressure across the air conditioning unit's filter and alerts when replacement is required.
It requires extremely high precision and cleanliness, while digital signals facilitate data recording and remote monitoring.
Accurately measures air flow differential pressure to monitor and regulate the patient's ventilation volume.
In the gas supply system, differential pressure is monitored to ensure the gas is delivered at the set flow rate.
Ensures the maintenance of the required pressure gradient in critical areas to guarantee operational safety.
For large-scale collection of infrastructure and environmental data.
At weather stations, wind speed is measured using specialized differential pressure sensing devices.
By monitoring the pressure difference in long-distance oil and gas pipelines, leakage locations can be identified.
Calculates water depth by measuring the pressure difference between the water surface and the seabed (or atmosphere), used for hydrological monitoring.
