TM100 (PT100) temperature sensor

The TM100 is equipped with a PT100 probe, and the resistance value of PT100 changes with temperature. PT100 is available in several specifications such as two-wire, three-wire and four-wire types.

It is easy to install, offers a variety of measurement ranges to choose from, and provides probes of different specifications. It features an all-stainless steel casing, with a compact and sturdy structure. In addition, a cabinet-mounted control meter can also be optionally equipped.

    1.Real-time precise monitoring and status display

    Function description: PT100 continuously and precisely converts the temperature of the oil into a standard electrical signal (such as resistance signal or 4-20mA signal), and transmits it to the PLC, controller or digital display meter.

     


     

    2. Participate in intelligent closed-loop control

    PT100 is the key to achieving system automation and energy-saving operation.

    Function description: Its continuous signals are fed back to the controller as process variables (PV). After comparison with the set value (SP), the controller outputs commands to adjust the actuator.

    Typical applications

    Cooling system control

    Scene: When the oil temperature rises to 45°C, the PT100 signal triggers the PLC, automatically starting the cooling fan. When the temperature continues to rise to 55°C, the PLC controls the fan to accelerate or starts the water cooler. Conversely, when the oil temperature drops, reduce the cooling power or turn off the cooler.

    Heating system control

    Scene: When starting in a cold environment, if the PT100 detects that the oil temperature is below 10°C, it will automatically connect the oil tank heater to prevent the oil viscosity from being too high. The heater will automatically shut off when the oil temperature rises to 20°C.

     


     

    3. Achieve hierarchical early warning and safety interlock protection

    PT100 makes it possible to implement flexible and programmable protection strategies.

    Function description: Set multiple thresholds for the PT100 signal in the control system (such as PLC) to achieve hierarchical alarm and protection.

    Typical applications

    Level 1 warning (Alarm) : When the oil temperature exceeds 60°C, an audible and visual alarm is triggered to remind the operator to check, but the equipment does not shut down.

    Level 2 protection (shutdown) : When the oil temperature exceeds 75°C, the PLC determines that the system is in a dangerous state, outputs a signal to cut off the main motor control circuit, and executes an emergency shutdown.

     



    4. Support predictive and diagnostic maintenance

    This is the high-level value brought by PT100 as a high-precision sensor.

    Function description: By analyzing the long-term and continuous temperature trend data provided by PT100, the health status of the system can be perceived.

    Typical applications

    Diagnosing internal leakage: If the system's base temperature and the rate of temperature rise during stable conditions are significantly higher than the historical normal values when the system is unloaded, it is very likely that there is severe internal leakage in the pump, valve or actuator, and energy loss is converted into heat.

    Diagnose the efficiency of the cooler: Compare the PT100 readings at the inlet and outlet of the cooler. If the temperature difference significantly decreases, it may indicate that there is blockage or scaling inside the cooler, resulting in a decline in heat exchange efficiency.

    Diagnosing bearing wear: If the PT100 installed near the bearing housing shows a slow and continuous increase in temperature at this point, it may be an early sign of accelerated bearing wear.

    Function description: Through the precise feedback of PT100, the temperature of the hydraulic system or lubrication system is stabilized within the optimal range required by the process.

    Plastic injection molding machine: The control of the barrel temperature directly affects the fluidity of the plastic and the product quality, and its control relies on the precise measurement of PT100.

    Steel rolling production line: The temperature stability of lubricating oil is crucial for ensuring the surface quality of the sheet and the service life of the rolls.
